Ayurveda

Translated as "the knowledge of life", Ayurveda is a five thousand year old healing system originating in India that focuses on establishing and maintaining balance between mind, body and spirit.
Ayurveda

The knowledge of life. The balancing of life.

Rather than focusing on individual symptoms or problems, Ayurveda recognizes the uniqueness of each person and the importance of proper health between the three main energies that exist inside each of us: Vata (movement, transportation and communication), Pitta (digestion, metabolism and transformation) and Kapha (structure, strength/immunity & lubrication) in order to create optimal health. Based on individual assessment, recommendations and education in the way of lifestyle, diet, herbs, aromas and like concepts are given to assist in correcting any imbalances and to help individuals feel better.

ZenSpot’s Wellness Center can assist you in finding balance in a healthy and natural way through a comprehensive healing system that helps YOU to live a life of radiance.

Abhyanga

Abhyanga is a special type of Ayurvedic warm oil massage that involves anointing oneself with healing dosha-specific oils. It can also be performed by an Ayurvedic massage therapist. A Sanskrit term, abhyanga means "massaging the body's limbs" or "glowing body." It is derived from abhi, meaning "into" or "glow," and anga meaning "limb." Regular practice of abhyanga massage promotes overall health and longevity. Performing abhyanga on oneself is a wonderful way to connect with one's body and express self-love. It is especially good for balancing the various doshas, with particular benefits for those with a vata dosha imbalance. Book HERE.

Kriya Breathwork

Kriya Breathwork: Kriya is a Sanskrit word that means purification. Kriya Breathwork is the simple ancient roots that Rebirthing Breathwork™ and Holotropic Breathwork™ are based on. Kriya Breathwork does involve some effort, determination and willingness to be vulnerable. With the help of an experienced and knowledgeable guide these sessions can purify the mind, body and spirit. People often come into a KB session wanting and hoping for a specific result, insight, shift or release into specific area of their life. People also come in with no agendas, but to see what presents itself. Both approaches work, there are always surprises, and every session is different from the last. Book HERE.

Vasti

Vasti is the practice of applying heat to certain parts of the body. The process consists of creating a dam around an affected area and filling it with warm medicated oil. The oil is left to sit and penetrate the tissues, rejuvenating the body by easing the pain, swelling and tension. This therapy is excellent for abdominal, chest, back and knee issues. It helps provide relief from acute and chronic back pain, lumbar spondylosis, sciatica, osteoporosis, a prolapsed disc, lumbrosacral strain and rheumatoid arthritis. Book HERE.

Shirodhara

The word shirodhara originates from two Sanskrit words, shiro (head) and dhara (flow). It is a form of treatment in which warm, herbalized Ayurvedic oil is poured onto your forehead. The oil pour lasts approximately 30 minutes and is preceded by a scalp massage and acupressure treatment. There are many benefits to this treatment that include: reduces stress + anxiety, awakens intuition, improves sleep length + quality, pacifies the nervous system and assists in female + male health and reproduction.
