When in the workplace, people are asked to perform and produce the highest quality work possible. The ZenSpot Institute’s (ZSI) Corporate Wellness program provides a foundation that enables people to access their highest quality Self. The education, services and tools offered by ZSI directly address three primary areas of wellness: movement, mindfulness and nutrition.
Since humans are not designed to be sedentary, and life is in constant flux, ZSI’s movement practices range from 20 minutes to 60 minutes during the work day. ZSI will tailor and ensure accessibility of practices so they are readily incorporated into the busiest of work days.
Mindfulness and the practice of meditation are proven to support brain, lung and heart health and improve attendance, attitudes and job performance. Just as we plug in and recharge our phones everyday, breathing practices channel new energy to our brain and our heart in a similar way. Mindfulness practices and meditation offer the same kind of recharge. ZSI will tailor and ensure accessibility of practices so they are readily incorporated into the busiest of work days.
Input affects output. We really are what we eat, think and do. Each person has an individual constitution. There is NO one diet that fits all. In order to fuel our bodies for optimal function, it is essential to know our constitutional makeup. ZSI will provide group and/or 1-on-1 consultations to educate employees so they understand what to eat before they arrive at work, what to pack for lunch or have readily available in the workplace once at work. During the week, people typically consume 21 meals and engage in movement or mindfulness practices from 0-7 times.

-Healthy employees cost you less. According to the Harvard Business Review, every dollar invested in employee wellness programming yielded $6 in health care savings.
-A survey of 540 manufacturing employees in 2016 found diet, exercise and healthy body weight were related to less absenteeism. Consuming a high-quality diet AND engaging in moderate levels of physical activity were negatively associated with absenteeism. Absenteeism was positively associated with rates of obesity.
-Multiple research studies have found meditation to increase focus, creativity, and emotional intelligence, while decreasing anxiety, fear and other adverse emotions. A New York CEO introduced meditation after 9/11 as a calming outlet, which led to employees being more present at work (and even with their families at home). A Fortune 25 company implements mindfulness techniques to encourage flexible mindsets as a foundation for leadership.
-Existing wellness programs incentivize employees based on “health contingent” criteria and/or by participating in physical activities. This may be unique to each company and available resources (American Journal of Health Promotion, 2019).
