Teaching Methodology & Practicum provides in-depth analysis and application of teaching methodology to hone the understanding of postures, the grouping of poses and the readiness of both the instructor and the students. Also included in this section are experiences with special populations and modifications for students of all levels and abilities.

Anatomy, Alignment & Physiology

Anatomy, Alignment, Physiology & Ayurveda examines the body and its movement during asana practice, suitable alignment when doing yoga and the science behind it all.

Ayurveda

Known as "the science of life" the Ayurveda portion of the program considers all aspects of the students' physical, emotional and spiritual journey and its application to daily life in order to nourish a healthy mind, body & spirit.

Yoga History, Culture & Tradition

Yoga History, Culture & Tradition traces yoga’s origin and paths to the present day through a philosophical and theoretical context that touches upon foundational elements, key terms, traditions and concepts. Insight into the way yoga traces the basic concept of individual, cultural, social and cosmic order through Hindu/Indian history from the Upanishadic period (c. 600 BCE) to Gandhi and the present will be emphasized.

The Industry of Yoga & Teacher Ethics

Industry of Yoga & Teacher Ethics emphasize best practices and professionalism for those embarking on the new path of being a teacher.

Program Curriculum

THE ZS 200-HOUR YTT COMBINED STUDY PROGRAM: 

ZenSpot is proud to offer a unique, combined study program for independent study and face to face instruction for students desiring to receive a 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Credential.

Rooted in the principles of Patanjali and ancient lineages that have inspired this 5,000 year-old tradition, students will learn about yoga's teachings, knowledge and practices as well as how to deliver them in a modern culture that is both sacred and practical. This comprehensive program includes: Yoga History, Culture & Tradition, Yoga Asana Practice, Teaching Methodology & Practicum with Specialties & Modifications, Anatomy, Alignment, & Physiology, Ayurveda and Yoga Ethics.

Upon successful completion of the program students receive a 200-Hour Yoga Alliance recognized certificate. Use this to teach anywhere in the world.

Enhance your world of yoga instruction, adjustments and assists with expert instructor Nam Chanterrwyn. Perceptive and unique, Nam's smart verbal and manual cueing techniques will provide you with the tools you need to help your students get the most out of every practice. Whether you teach vinyasa, hatha, yin or gentle classes this workshop is for you! This workshop is open to yoga teachers and students. Earn 16 hours of Continuing Education credits with Yoga Alliance.

Functional Anatomy

Dates: October 1-3, 2021, Feb 4-6, 2022 + April 2-4, 2022 Location: YogaSix Broadway Studio, Boise, ID Description: The workshops will be held Friday night 5:30-8:30pm and Sat/Sun 8-5. These will be the functional anatomy modules led by Sami Ashenbrener, DPT and RYT. There are three functional anatomy workshops: feet to pelvis, core + spine and upper back, neck and shoulders. These training modules are open to our members also. $299 and our teachers get 10% off.  20 credit hours for each module. Modules 1, 2

Module 1: Be Fearless

Description: Be part of the adventure of a lifetime. Join us as we tour the land where yoga originated and experience the sites, sounds, smells and colors of India’s beauty and ancient history.

Module 2: Celebrate the Self & Other Living Beings

Description: In this course you will learn the underlying concepts of Qi, Yin and Yang, Meridians, Extraordinary Vessels and the 5 Elements and learn to apply the Taoist practices of Yin Yoga and Qigong for health, wellness and happiness.  

Module 3

Module 3: Learn to Love

Description: Understanding the Bhakti Yoga path is essential for those studying yoga. Take a deep dive into the texts and experiences of this path and emerge with a whole new perspective on love. Perspectives from both Taoist and Vedic teachings will be incorporated to cultivate a greater sense of the idea and application of care, compassion and love and the relationship this has to the self.

Module 4: Cultivate Positive Energy

Description: Want to learn more about Ayurveda beyond the doshas? Learn the principles of Ayurveda and its impact on both the gross and subtle body including the systems from Nervous to Reproductive. Explore the subdoshas, dhatus, marmas, and the chakras. Participants will learn about the connection between the brain and the gut for better balance.  

Module 5: Living in Balance with the Environment

Description: Being In, With and Of Nature: A Regimen for All Time is an eight-week seminar to remind and reiterate what has been known for thousands of years: Nature is the foundation for health and spiritual awakening. Tao is synonymous with Nature as The Way or Path to knowing what is Real and being with that Reality.
