Emily is originally from Northern California and spent many childhood years exploring waters and mountains throughout the Pacific Ocean, Yosemite, and Big Sur to name a few. This active lifestyle naturally led to athletics for many years, which then led to gyms and group exercise classes in pursuit of continued recreation.
Emily first began practicing Yoga in 2007, but only after taking some Pilates classes first because she was too intimidated to try Yoga first. The first class got her ‘hooked’ to say the least; the challenge and calm it brought was both empowering and necessary as a teen navigating early adulthood. Emily lived in Seattle for seven years where she studied Psychology at Seattle University, then began a career as a Yoga teacher and fitness instructor. Emily initially wanted to pursue a career in Counseling, but realized that movement was an alternative that offered similar benefit, and was able to reach more people at a given time.
She attended her first Yoga teacher training in 2013 through YogaFit, which led to many more trainings and certifications the following years in additional fitness formats. In 2019 she took her own training to a new level and competed in her first sprint triathlon. Currently as a personal trainer and Yoga/fitness instructor, she enjoys working with people from all walks of life whether it’s with healing restorative postures or slamming battle ropes.
Emily is excited to be collaborating with the ZenSpot Institute to offer Corporate Wellness services as a way to fuse many of her passions to make a positive impact through health and wellness.
